Week 5: Day 3 of Work Experience at LIT
Week 5
Day 3 of Work Experience at LIT
Started at 9:00 am, checked email, reviewed yesterdays work and plan for today. Will make another 2 videos on the Moodle topics of:
Revise latest videos and update from feedback.
We met with Stephen. I showed him my work and we talked about suggestions for interactivity for user when it is at the u-tube development stage, that at the title page, they can on-click select the part of the video of relevance to them.
Stephen is looking into an intermediary flicker screen between some clips, where a black screen with the cursor live appears within some clips.
I found out a few useful Camtasia techniques today, namely: to add zoom features when timeline is at maximum; stretching the zoom arrow for smoother transitions of clips.
A thoughtful "Adobe" image for the day:
Here, in the company Meta, there is minimal office furniture, everyone is wearing AR headsets, and their work is projected into 3D holograms. This is also in response to market competition, where Meta are competing with deep-pocketed, companies such as Apple, and Microsoft, in a race for the latest, most functional technology with the best UI/UX experience possible.
The articles author Stella Wang, has been at Meta and tried and tested the products and describes her experiences in this article. She says: "I would be more than ready to give them up (i.e. desktops, phones etc she refers to here), for a pair of glasses that would project anything I want into the space around me."
She concludes, that it may be further into the future that this occurs and "how great it would be to have a movie theater-sized screen to take with me wherever I went?", communicate through holograms, and not be carrying around heavy laptops etc.
