Week 2: Day 5 of Work Placement at LIT
Week 2
Day 5 of Work Placement at LIT
Started work at 9:00 am, checked mail, reviewed yesterdays work and plan for today.
Referred to our OneNote sharing page for list of videos we are to make. I then looked up about information for Software and applications on the list that I would not be familiar with:
Power BI:
Newsletter:
Working on the June Newsletter for this Work Placement. I drew it up in Adobe Illustrator, combined the Illustrator pages into a PDF using Adobe Acrobat. I went to submit it but found that the file while zipped was too large. I then, drew up a similar one in Microsoft Word including link to the Microsoft Outlook "OneDrive" video I made this week, and this I submitted today.
Microsoft Word (TOC):
Learned how to use the Microsoft Word "Table of Contents" technique. Very useful when updating in reports. I applied this to the layout of the Final Report of this Work Placement. The chapters and headings are set out in the Work Placement Policy Handbook, and earlier on in this Term 3, I had set out the structure and some content information. The Table of Contents feature I applied to this structure of the final report. Most useful benefits are that when applied to a document, updating does not involve changing all the pages, page numbers, index etc., it updates when certain headings styles and formatting are applied, automatically. Also, it lines up the page numbers evenly.
