Work Placement Meetings
Work Placement Meetings
I sent the proposed brief from the first blog to our Co-Coordinator Lorraine and then met with her on Tuesday 13/06/2017. We discussed the proposed project and I found that the project was to be for a client. Lorraine suggested a Work Placement in the IT Department and that it may also link in with part of my briefs' objective to learn an e-learning software application and produce e-learning tutorials from this. I was delighted with this opportunity where it would involved learning and developing skills in e-learning for a real-life working environment, at LIT. These videos to make are for first year students to help them with LIT, IT processes and tasks. Looking forward to starting work.
Another member of our class David and I will be working together on these videos. Lorraine informed us of a meeting with the IT Manager Alan Barry on Friday 16/06/2017 at 10:00am. We all met on Friday and Alan informed us of the processes and requirements. Our start date was set for Monday 19/06/2017. I passed on a 3 page extract I put together on Atomi Active Presenter software and my contact details.
Lorraine introduced us to Camtasia software, which we have been using since Monday. I decided to put aside learning the Atomi software for now and concentrate on Camtasia. This is so that David and I as a team, are on the same page, both learning and working with the same Camtasia software.
Stephen Guinane is linking in with us with instructions, objectives and help and will be getting a list of the required tutorial videos to create from the IT Manager. The tutorials are for first year students. Another task is to video speeches to first year students during induction week in September, to facilitate any students that could not attend the induction.
Lorraine sent us an email on 'Encryption' to get started.
Work starts Monday.....😊 👍🎧🎤🎨🏈🎈
