Week 1: Day 2 of Work Placement at LIT

Week 1
Day 2 of Work Placement at LIT (20/06/2017):

Started work at 9:00am, checked my email and got working on the videos using Camtasia software. I found that when I opened Camtasia that the zoom seemed to be missing from the latest saved file. I then uploaded the same file I had saved onto my memory stick to the programme and it had the zoom saved. I copied this and worked from this file.

Yesterday, I had made the screen-captures based on the draft script and worked on matching up the audio to that today.

From yesterday, I had set a zoom on the "login details." Today, I set the zoom on: the "View Timetable" and the "Timetable search filters section." To do this I clipped the start and end of the area of this clip I required and applied use of  the "Scale" tool from the properties pane to this clip. I removed extra mouse movement at the "View Timetable" section. Added fade-in transitions between clips.

I then looked for information on "how to rejoin a split" from the Camtasia help section. Here, I found that to stitch two media together, right-click where the media are touching and chose "stitch media." To separate media after stitching, right-click on the stitch and chose "unstitch."

Stephen and Michael showed us how to manually apply the "clip speed" in a reduction/increase of speed to the video. This was important for the syncing of the screen-captures with the script video audio.

I redrafted the script based on timings and pace of the screen-captures and made notes on next work to do to blend these together. I adjusted clip speeds and made the accompanying audio. I edited these initially on a trial and error basis until I got familiar with how it all worked together. I explored audio features such as the "noise removal" tool.

Finalized a draft of the video for this stage of the project, showed it to Stephen, made some more changes.

I had some time before the completion of today and looked up how to use "One Drive." I then, uploaded the video files for this project to there.

Our work finishing time is changed to 5:30 pm and completed work at this time today. Tomorrow mornings work will involve exporting of the videos.
