Week 1: Day 1 of Work Placement at LIT
Week 1
Day 1 of Work Placement at LIT (19/06/2017):
Started work at 9:00 am. Stephen activated the Camtasia software on our computers and we copied two source files:
onto our desktops. These I will be importing into Camtasia.
Listened to and made notes on the Camtasia introduction video. Looks very interesting.
I watched some of the tutorials in Camtasia and made summary notes on same.
There are two videos for us to get started with on how to access:
in the LIT Student Portal. Stephen gave us instructions on what is required in these videos we make and to write up a script for these processes and brought up microphones to use for recording of the audio.
David and I worked together on the scripts, and with our combined ideas we produced two versions. We then split the work where I worked on the video for the Timetables and David worked on that for the Software.
I practiced the recording and screen-capture techniques, editing of clips, adding transitions (mainly "fade-in"), adding effects (including "zoom" and "pan"), and editing of the system audio from the video.
At the completion of today, I have the screen-captures taken, editing of clips, some zoom-in on clips and transitions added. What I have to do yet are addition of more zoom features and transitions. Further editing and the audio will be the main part of tomorrows work.
We finished work at 5:00pm today. Our working day from tomorrow onwards will be 9:00am-6:00pm.
